Over the next few months, Tesla is migrating the lease experience to Tesla Account. Now owners will have easy access to any details of the lease experience, and will also be able to purchase a car that they had on lease.
Tesla has announced a new lease that will launch in early 2021 with a new online lease portal. Tesla owners can now manage almost all of their experience of ownership through their Tesla Account on the Tesla website.
At the beginning of 2021, Tesla is moving the lease terms to the customer’s Tesla Account. After the new lease experience is live, customers will be able to do the following in their Tesla Account:
- View invoices
- View current balance
- View Finance Agreement
- Manage direct debit enrollment
- Make one-time payment
- Request termination quote
- Request lease extension
- Request lease transfer
- Request lease return
Tesla also explained everything that the client should know about this new and improved experience:
Your planned transition date
You will receive multiple notifications before your transition date and an additional confirmation once your account transfer is complete. Tesla will contact you with any actions required before your transition date.
Lease process for a specific action
If a specific action, such as a lease return or lease extension, is in progress during your transition date, you may need to take additional action. Tesla will contact you with next steps as your transition date approaches to ensure minimal disruption to your experience.
